A Quiet Celebration

The Momma left this morning for Alexandria, and none to soon as things turned out. Before she landed at Reagan International, Ada was at the hospital. Little Annie Alexis was born while mother was in the taxi on way to the hospital. As is her practice, Ada was business-like and efficient in getting her baby here.

Meanwhile, it was my turn to fix dinner for GBH. Mother had planned ahead and sent me to work with a can of Tomato soup (the kind made famous by Andy Warhol), a loaf of pumpernickel, and a tupperware of cheese filling. It was a quiet, simple dinner for two, one of whom is very hard of hearing.

Dinner over, dishes done, I came home to a quiet house and did - what else - Quicken. But it did seem like some type of celebration was in order, so I went down to the fridge and pulled out a little baggie carefully hidden behind the yogurt and eggs. I pulled one of the precious little tubes from the baggie, carefully peeled away the casing, and savored a few slices of $24.99/lb Creminelli salame. It was a quiet but appropriate celebration. Complimenti!

The perfect treat from the fridge to celebrate Annie! Mom said Sadie asked you, "Pops, why didn't you come over?" Poor sad lonely Pops! Will we get some new videos from you?
